Stephen Coombs is a lead clinician in musculoskeletal podiatry for the treatment of adults and children at this facility. After qualifying as a Podiatrist in 1988, Steve developed an interest in musculo-skeletal conditions occurring in both children and adults. This interest was further developed via an academic and clinical route. In 1996, he completed an MSc entitled "The effects of abnormal sub-talar joint motion and its implications with inter-professional practice" and presented his dissertation topic to the Podiatric Research Forum. The work he has undertaken outside this clinic has included chair for the Wales Postgraduate Group of Podiatrists.
He has also lectured at the School of Podiatric Studies UWIC and UWCM. As well as carrying out lectures for numerous orthotic manufacturing companies, he has also presented at three national conferences for the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. He has also presented at the national podopeadiatrics conference.

Stephen also has a particular interest in Sports Medicine and has treated many professional football and rugby players as well as athletes. Steve is involved with the local community and The Biomechanics Clinic sponsors Pen-y-fai Football club. He is currently working with Cardiff City Academy. Stephen believes in a multidisciplinary/ inter-disciplinary approach to practice, and works closely with Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chriropractors as well as Orthopaedic Surgeons.
